Na rab teerath firyan milda na eh dhooni taawan naal;
Na jap karke na tap karke na eh path parhaawan naal. Teri is aawaaz nahin sunni uchchiyan vajan laawan naal; Kade ess ne nahin reejhana ustat sunan sunaawan naal. Gur poore de charna utte sees jhukayan mil sakdai; Kahe avtar bhavsagar vichchon fir eh berha thil sakdai. |

God cannot be realized by going round the places of pilgrimage or by sitting by the side of sacred fire;
God cannot be realized by muttering of prayer, by undergoing penance or by getting the holy scriptures recited. God shall not listen to you merely because you cry so loudly; God shall not be pleased merely because you listen to His praise or recite it to others. God can be realized by bowing your head at the feet of the True Master, Avtar says, only then this vessel of your life can cross the ocean of materialism. |
Meaning
Only by knowing God from True Master we can achieve salvation, or break the cycle of birth and death. God cannot be realized by going round the places of pilgrimage or by sitting by the
side of sacred fire. God cannot be realized by saying prayers, by undergoing some punishment or just by reciting the holy-scriptures. God shall not listen to you merely because you cry so
loudly. God shall not be pleased merely because you listen to His praise or recite it to others. God can only be realized by bowing your head at the feet of the True Master. Here Baba Avtar
Singh ji says, only then we can get released from the cycle of birth and death.
